We belong to the Rheingold District of TAC which is responsible for southwestern parts of Germany and for the German-speaking parts of Switzerland.
We follow the same guidelines and rules as any troop of the Boy Scouts of America organization. We work on the same merit badges and we complete the same rank requirements.
The Troop 625 currently consists of ca. ten scouts from many countries.
Our ages span practically the entire range from eleven to seventeen years of age.
Practically all of us are bilingual (English and German) or trilingual.
Our local experience ranges from relatively new expatriates who have only recently moved to Switzerland to those who have been born and lived all their lives in Switzerland.
We typically attend either international English-speaking schools like Zurich International School (ZIS) or Inter-Community School Zurich (ICSZ), or Swiss elementary (Primarschule, Sekundarschule) or high schools (Gymnasium).
All boys between ages 11 – 17 years are welcome.
You do not need to be an American or have experience with Boy Scouts.
The Troop 625 practices “Boy Lead” – Troop Patrol Method. Everyone learns to participate, organize and lead.
Our program can accommodate UK Scouts. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
We meet once a week on Wednesdays from 18:30 to 19:45.
Meeting point is in the Rectory of the Catholic Church Gut Hirt (Good Shepherd’s) on Baarerstrasse 62 (entry from the Guthirtstrasse), 6300 Zug. The actual meeting is held in the basement.
Hope to see you on Wednesday
